Peter Shannon was the only representative from the arts to receive an award at this tenth annual event which was organized by Savannah’s Technical College’s group of young professionals who are charged with expanding the awareness of the college and its mission.
Irish born Shannon, Artistic Director and Conductor of The Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, was sponsored for this prestigious award by Judy & Dick Eckburg who commented “Peter is an extremely talented and inspiring person. Accepting the award Shannon said “I love my job and the people I work with: I am allowed to conduct some of the most glorious music that mankind has composed and I get to share these moments with my wonderful orchestra, chorus, board and friends.”
