SAVANNAH, GA – March 22, 2018 – The Savannah Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra is slated to present “All You Need Is Love,” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University, 11935 Abercorn St, Savannah.


This evening of love songs to stir the soul and fill the heart with joy will include: For the Beauty of Earth, The Gift of Love, Seasons of Love (from Rent), Love Changes Everything, From a Distance, If Ye Love Me, Uptown Girl, Moon River, Lollipop, My Love’s An Arbutus, How Sweet It Is, Homeward Bound, Danny Boy, and Can’t Help Falling in Love With You. This semester’s Savannah Philharmonic Chorus intern, Tenayah Brown, will conduct two pieces during the concert.


“The Chorus is greatly looking forward to performing this joyful repertoire in celebration love,” said Savannah Philharmonic Chorusmaster Monica Harper Dekle. “We are also excited to have Tenayah Brown join us as she has been remarkable to work with. I hope her experience with us will prepare and lead her on a wonderful music journey – we can’t wait to see where her talent takes her in the future!”


In addition to interning with the Savannah Philharmonic Chorus, Tenayah Brown is also currently serving as an intern with Dekle at Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church. A native of Forsyth, Georgia, Brown is a senior voice and music student at Savannah State University studying voice with Jacquelyn Hamilton. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Savannah State University, she will attend graduate school while getting her Master of Music in Choral Conducting. Brown is working with Dekle and the Chorus to hone her conducting skills. She enjoys singing with the Savannah State University Concert Chorale and Wesleyan Gospel Choir.


The Savannah Philharmonic is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission to provide the highest level of musical performances and educational programs featuring the highest caliber of professional musicians, a volunteer chorus, and internationally acclaimed soloists. The Savannah Philharmonic aims to exhilarate, educate, and enrich a large and diverse audience in the greater Savannah community.
