SAVANNAH, GA – April 12, 2016 – The sights and sounds of Tybee Island will get a little livelier on Saturday, May 7, when the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus hosts their annual fundraiser, Jazz at the Beach.
The event, which is in full swing from 2-5 p.m. at North Beach Bar and Grill, 33 Meddin Drive, will feature jazz by regionally renowned Savannah singer Laiken Williams and her band, Fellowship of Love. Tickets are $40 each, and proceeds benefit the Savannah Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus.
Guests will be treated to a tantalizing spread of appetizers and snacks, courtesy of North Beach Bar and Grill, while they enjoy live music and peruse a select selection of silent auction items. A cash bar will also be available.
Williams has made a name for herself in and around the Coastal Empire by wowing audiences with unforgettable performances that feature an impressive variety of jazz, classic soul, upbeat swing, soul, funk, blues and pop. She took the local music scene by storm in 2011 and since has played many well-known venues and annual events, such as the Savannah Food & Wine Festival, Tybee Island Mardi Gras, the Charleston Jazz Festival, the International Longshoremen’s Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Jacksonville Beach’s Jazz at the Beach Festival.
“Music lovers are really in for a joyful time at Jazz at the Beach. What’s better than relaxing with your toes in the sand, tunes in the air, sun in the sky, and plenty of delicious snacks and drinks?” asks Savannah Philharmonic Artistic Director and Conductor Peter Shannon. “We hope everyone will take advantage of this opportunity to relax and have some fun while supporting the Philharmonic.”
Tickets are on sale now, and sponsorship opportunities are still available at various levels, including a $250 Seashell Sponsor, a $500 Sand Dollar Sponsor or a $1,000 Starfish Sponsor.
All sponsors receive an array of perks and acknowledgements, such as recognition on selected promotional materials and in the Voices Only Concert and the Season Finale program books, inclusion in the Philharmonic’s e-newsletter that is distributed to over 4,000 recipients, a verbal thank-you at the event, and a specified number of tickets to the performance, depending on sponsorship level.
